Today's workout: 3 miles on the elliptical, 25 minutes total

So, there is another runner in the neighborhood.  She beat me to the treadmill this morning.  Sad.
I also did three sets of 9 pushups, guy pushups.

I have been eating tons and tons of carbs lately.  I have stopped tracking my calories on my fitness pal and apparently that gave me a license to eat like a pig all the time.  It's no good.  I am going to do better today.

Today was a bad day, there is a bunch of stuff going on with my family and I read about a million texts from various sisters on the way to the gym.  Needless to say I walked the first 1 minutes of my workout, so that is why my time is so long.  I had to leave early too because I had an appt. that I had to get ready for.

Today's Workout: 2.04 miles in 21:55 on elliptical, 2.09 on bicycle in 10 minutes, 1 mile on treadmill in 9:08

Well, I just couldn't bring myself to run 6 miles today.  It's trouble, I've kind of lost my motivation again.  Anyway, I went to the gym and I did something.  I felt guilty at the end so I tried to run a fast mile.  I sort of did.

Ran on the treadmill at the hotel today.  2.5 miles in 25 minutes or something like that.  I forgot to keep track but I just wanted to report that I did something.  Plus, we walked the entire Las Vegas strip and back.  That's a lot of walking!

Nothing new to report here, except I have been a slacker in most ways imaginable.  I haven't run since Tuesday morning and have been eating crap. Lots of crap.  Needless to say I have not logged into my fitness pal all week, I don't want to see how many pounds I am going to gain if I keep this up.  Really.

Running 5 miles tomorrow!

Today's Workout: (Coming to you direct from Vegas) 5 miles in 55 minutes (11 min per mile)

Two things:  My feet were really sore from walking all over Vegas the night before, but still I would have run 6 miles I just failed to look at my workout goal before I hit the gym and I thought that I was only supposed to run 5 miles.

They have awesome treadmills here!  They have TV's attached to each one and you are in control of what you watch on them.  I watched the price is right, and Drew Carey has totally had hair plugs or something, he suddenly has a ton of hair.  Anyway, I had a great run, the only thing was that I had to get used to the bouncing screen as it is so much closer than the TV at the clubhouse.  I was going up and down from running so I had to acclimate to focusing on the screen like that.

Today's Goal: Rest or X train

Today's Workout: Elliptical machine, 3.38 miles in 30 minutes, burning 284 calories.
Plus...Chair Steps, 3x15 each leg, plus 3x15 pulses each leg and pushups, 3x8

I have started keeping track of calories because I am now trying to be award of how many calories I consume in a day plus the amount that I burn off.  Now that I am 30 I can feel that my metabolism is slowing so I need to teach myself how to not over-consume, which is something that I have done pretty much my entire life.  There is a website called, it's free, it helps you track your calories and exercise water consumption. Then at the end of the day when you complete you entry, it tells you based on your caloric intake what your body will do if you continue on that way.   The first day I ate like I normally do and then at the end of the day had consumed something like 2800 calories, and it approximated that  if I did that every day I would gain 9 pounds in 5 weeks.  Wow.  Well I guess I need to pay attention. 
It makes me wonder exactly how those twin brothers on the biggest looser gained 9 lbs in ONE week though, especially at the rate they exercise on that show.  They definitely rigged it somehow.
Anyway, I like being more conscious about what I put into my body. I would like to loose 10'ish pounds so I'm hoping that the law of the harvest works out for me, consume less than I am burning.  Or consume less than my body will gain weight at rather. Oh, and I also give myself Sunday's off of keeping track.

Today's Workout:  4 miles in 47:15
Details: Walked for first .3 miles, then speed 5.5 (jog) until .75
              Speed 6.5 (9:13 per mile) from .75 to 1.75  
              Speed 5.5 jogging from 1.75 until 2.25
              Speed 6.5 (9:13 per mile) from 2.25 until 3.25
              Speed 7.2 all the way down to walking at 3.5 for the last .75

I wanted to blow up the treadmill today, and my hamstrings were killing me.  Darn you Jillian!

I completed my goal though.

Today's Workout: Jillian Michaels fat burning cardio - 50 minutes long including warmup and cool down

This video is a circuit training kind of workout, I really like it because it changes a lot, and I've done it enough times to know what to expect.  I really hate the floor work though, I am really lacking in this area apparently and I can never do as many reps as I am supposed to .  Plus my heart is beating in my head and I'm so sweaty, I wish the floor work was at the beginning or closer to the beginning.  Also, jumping jacks...if I were to do them I would pee my pants, so I modify with side steps and arms, no jumping.

Today's Workout: 5 miles in 54:26 (11:26 per mile) 621 calories burned

Well, I came in just under my goal.  I did a lot of walking today, basically I ran for as long as I could stand it than let myself walk for 1 minute.  I also tried to push my speed a lot just for kicks and giggles.  So I guess you could say I did some speed work?  Maybe?  I must admit I really don't know what that term means, it might be something cryptic or it could mean exactly what it sounds like it should.

Today's Workout: 5 miles in 53:28 (10:42 per mile)

Unfortunately I realized that I have always been calculating my minute per mile wrong.  Math was never my subject.

Fortunately, I have fixed it and from here on out I am going to have an accurate average of my running time.  Also, it is not really a problem on a treadmill because the dang thing tells you how fast your mile is based on your speed level.  It's just those outdoor runs that are inaccurate...

So far February is off to a weak start, I was lazy all week.  But I made up for it with a good run today, and I beat the crap out of my goal which always feels good.
